Blood Drive Obstacles

WHERE THERE’S A WILL, THERE’S A WAY

SANDBRIDGE PUTS ON A BLOOD DRIVE DESPITE THE OBSTACLES

Organizers were left scrambling when the Red Cross Blood Drive needed to be moved from the Sandbridge Fire & Rescue Station after city facilities were shut down to the public in response to the Coronavirus. Luckily, the blood drive found a new location at the Wave Church on Seaboard Road. This was an extremely important blood drive, as the Red Cross has a critical blood shortage right now. Thanks to all the generous blood donors who turned out and gave 34 units of blood, once again surpassing our goal. Also a big “thank you” to our volunteers: Pat and Amy Barton, Judy Donahue, Staci Kirschner and Tae Macdonald. Kudos as well to head organizer Ken Leach, and our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Wave Church for really stepping up to the plate in such a time of need. If you were not able to make this blood drive, but would still like to donate, you can find other donation sites at redcrossblood.org. The next Sandbridge Red Cross

Blood Drive is scheduled for Thursday, May 21.
